Midori Ippai Project Activities LINE 2514th "NTT 미도리 이ppai 시오노에 모리"Tree Planting Activity 11월 11, 2017 NTT West Kagawa Group
On November 11, 2017 (Saturday), NTT West Kagawa Group held the fourth tree planting activity at the "NTT Midori Ippai Shionoe no Mori" located in Takamatsu City, Shionoe-cho (forest under the ownership of Takamatsu City).
This is the fourth year of this activity after Kagawa Prefecture, Takamatsu City and NTT West Kagawa Branch concluded a Forest Matching Agreement (cooperative forest development promotion project) in 2014.
The Forest Matching Agreement is an agreement that is concluded between a private sector company that is interested in forest development with the prefecture or city government, which gathers information on forests that require maintenance. Promoting "cooperative forest development" through participation by the private sector and bearing of expenses, our employees and their family members have so far engaged in the planting and thinning of cypress and other trees.
A total of about 70 participants who are employees and family members of NTT West Kagawa Group and its partner companies, as well as members of organizations such as Kagawa Prefecture Greenery Development Section and Shionoe-cho Forestry Cooperative took part in this event where 200 yamazakura cherry saplings were planted.
Although it rained in the early morning of the event, the activity went smoothly without being affected by the weather. Children participants tried very hard to use the hoes, and attached commemorative nameplates to the branch of the saplings they have planted while hoping that their cherry plants will grow tall.
This activity was also selected as the 41st National Tree-planting Festival Official Project, and NTT West Kagawa Branch was presented with the "Governor's Letter of Appreciation for Contribution to the 41st National Tree-planting Festival Kagawa Prefecture Greening" at the ceremony for the said festival in the following week.
NTT West Kagawa Group will continue to engage in efforts to protect the global environment through tree-planting activities.
