Midori Ippai Project Activities LINE 193FY2016 Yoshino River Mass Cleaning Activity (무료카지노게임ogram Yoshino River) July 2, 2016 NTT West Tokushima Group
NTT West Tokushima Group took part in the "Yoshino River Mass Cleaning Activity" which was co-hosted by the Yoshinogawa Interaction Promotion Council and Tokushima Office of River and National Highway (Ministry of Land, 인프라, Transport and Tourism).
As part of the activities for the River Protection Month, the "Yoshino River Mass Cleaning Activity" falls on the first Sunday of July every year. This year, the activity was scheduled on July 3 (Sunday), but as many companies were participating in the cleaning activities on the same day and parking space was insufficient, we brought forward the date to July 2 (Saturday), the day before, after obtaining consent from Tokushima Office of River and National Highway.
Inaugurated in 1974, the event aims at preventing illegal dumping and spreading the concept of river protection, and activities are carried out to beautify Yoshino River by both the public and private sectors with support from residents who live along the river.
The 무료카지노게임ogram is a project that divides the riverbed of Yoshino River into segments, and application by groups or companies are invited to "adopt" each of the riverbed segments. Participants will become the "foster parent" of the riverbed segment they are in charge of, which is their "foster child," and cleanup and beautification activities are carried out periodically (at least three times a year). The area allocated to Tokushima Group was a 600m segment of riverbed and levee on the left bank that is 1,400m to 2,000m upstream from the mouth of Yoshino River.
Despite falling on a non-working day, a total of about 108 participants, including employees, family members and retired employees of NTT West group companies, gathered at 8:00 a.m. to take part in the cleanup activity, which lasted for about an hour.
The amount of trash collected added up to a total of 20 bags of combustible garbage and 45 bags of non-combustible garbage (including recyclable wastes), which included car tires, hard rubber hoses, iron sheets, driftwood, polystyrene foam boxes, plastic and wooden containers and polyethylene tanks. The huge piles of garbage exceeded the amount that was collected during the previous activity in April.
In the closing address, Mr. 카와구치, Manager of NTT West Tokushima Branch, expressed that the activity to clean up Yoshino River is carried out as part of the group's social action program to contribute to the local community, which will hopefully help to maintain the Yoshino River in a clean and beautiful state, enhance the awareness toward the environment and broaden the network of people who take good care of rivers. Lastly, he added that the next Yoshino River cleaning will be in October, and hoped that everyone will give their support.
The event ended with a group photo-taking for all participants with the beautified Yoshino River as the background.
NTT West Tokushima Group will continue to engage actively in river protection and beautification activities in future.
