These activities are conducted by the Faculty of Agriculture, Kindai University in the school campus.

The event kicked off with an opening address by Mr. Watanabe (Manager of Planning and General Affairs Department of Nara Branch), followed by a briefing on the objectives of the activity by Associate Professor Kitagawa (Aquatic Ecological Laboratory, Environmental Management Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Kindai University) before the participants were divided into groups to carry out rice harvesting and plant trimming respectively.
Rice harvesting was carried out mainly by the participating children with support from the university students.
Children who learned how to harvest rice from the student supporters had fun cutting the rice plants carefully one by one.
A foot thresher that is rarely seen today was used to scrape off the husks from the ears of the rice plants harvested. The activity provided a valuable experience to both the children and adult participants, as the children had the chance to try out rice harvesting for the first time, while removing husks from the ears using a thresher was also a new experience for some adults.
Grass and plants in the overgrown areas around the pond were trimmed using grass cutters and sickles, which helped to brighten up the forest.
